Persol sunglasses are quite simply classic. Unlike all the “look a like” sunglasses made today, Persol’s have a timelessness that is reminiscent of stars such as Steve McQueen, Cary Grant, Marcello Mastroianni, and the list goes on. When you take a look at Persols craftsmanship, detailing, and lens quality it’s no surprise the company’s history with stars on and off the screen.

Persol 649 and Persol 649 (blue lenses)

The Persol 649/S, created in 1957, became instant legend when Marcello Mastroianni wore them in the Pietro Germi film "Divorce Italian style". 1994's French book "qualita: scenes d'objects a l'italienne" declared it one of the objects most representative of the Italian genius of yesterday and today.

Persol 714 and Persol 714 ( blue lenses)

Then of course comes our all time favorite sunglass, which was recently re-released in limited quanitity: Persol 714. The frame is similar to the 649/S except it has a folding frame design for that extra cool factor. It gained the most notoriety from Steve McQueen both on and off the screen, in movies such as the “Thomas Crown Affair” (1968) and “The Getaway” (1972). A pair of custom blue tinted Persol 714 from McQueen’s personal collection was auctioned in 2006 for a staggering $70,200! Persol stopped making the frame decades ago, but recently decided to re-release the frame in limited quantities. Eyegoodies not only has the Persol 714 but also has the exclusive Persol 714 with custom blue lenses (very limited).

If your want a pair of sunglasses that is classic, that is a definite head turner you could do no better than the frames mentioned above.
