Two of their most beloved styles, the MANHATTAN and LORD, are all done up in raw grained black acetate, gold metallic temples, and finished off with flat gold flash mirrored lenses. Lending an elevated and striking look to the timeless designs. Be warned that supply is limited on these, as only 500 pairs were made worldwide, so once sold out that’s it.

The New Arrivals:

The Oliver Goldsmith Consul (1959) was named after the Ford Consul car that was made in Britain and launched between 1951 and 1962.  A quintessential and timeless wayfarer design, the Consul features thick and chunky Italian acetate, real hand drilled riveted hinges with exposed circular pins, and offers an exceptionally nice fit for most faces. Available in Oliver Goldsmith’s signature ‘Tortoiseshell Split” colorway, as well as classic black, and “Dark Tortoiseshell”.

Glyn (1971) was named after one of Oliver Goldsmith’s best craftsmen who had worked for them for over 30 years before retiring at the ripe old age of 75. “He designed this frame for himself and it was the last frame he did before heading off to enjoy a life of cruising around the world with his lovely wife wife who was about 30!”

Glyn is a well-fitting plastic aviator that is a perfect embodiment of the decade. Handmade of the finest Italian acetate, it features a unique cut-out at the bridge, and real hand drilled riveted hinges with exposed circular pins.

Carl (1967) has been a staple design in Oliver Goldsmith’s collection for years. It is a squared off plastic aviator style, which has come to be known simply as the “Caravan Aviator”. Though first made in the late 60’s, its style really comes into its own with its brash  70’s feel.

Audrey (1963) is named after and designed for the late star of the silver screen, Audrey Hepburn; Oliver Goldsmith designed frames for many of Hepburn’s movies such as ‘Charade’, ‘Two for the Road’, and ‘How to Steal a Million’. This is one of the pioneering frames which helped cultivate the popularity of the large round eye sunglass — A classic design which is as beautiful and glamorous today as it was in 1963 (and will be in another 50 years).

Fuz is a British slang term for police; however rather than enforce the rules, the Fuz (1966) sunglasses break many of them in all the right ways. A large square eye frame, it features a reverse beveled front and wide paddle temples designed to comfortably contour the wearer’s head. Also worth noting, the Fuz was worn by Audrey Hepburn in the 1967 film ‘Two for the Road’. In fact all the sunglasses in that film were created by Oliver Goldsmith including the white wrap around frames on the poster. Fuz also appeared on the front cover of Vanity Fair in 1965.

Simultaneously chic and bold, the Koko (1666) is an oversized round eye sunglass.  From a design aspect this frame follows on from the ‘Audrey’ designed a few years earlier but is bigger and encompasses the comfortable Paddle Temples.

A similar design to the Koko was worn by Audrey Hepburn in the film ‘How to Steal a Million'(1966), as well as featured on the front cover of Vanity Fair in 1965.

Y-Not (1966), well why not?!  It’s big and brash, but unbelievably – incredibly wearable. Most recently made famous by Lady Gaga, these beautiful frames have made their way back into the Oliver Goldsmith collection and are a firm favorite. It features thick and substantial acetate, as well as paddle temples designed to comfortably contour the wearer’s head.

Orbison (1964) was named after Roy Orbison, the American singer/songwriter. The frames dramatic cat-eye shape lends a very nostalgic 50/60’s feel to a one of a kind feminine design.
