Graz Eyewear 2012 collection is now available.

Always original, constantly evolving, and perfecting his craft, Graz creates a variety of modern day classics for 2012.  The new collection shows great expanded range. We see chunky avant-garde frames such as the “General Idea“, pieces sharp enough for a black tie event (the “Otis“), as well as subtly redefined classics like the “Stray” series.

There’s a great use of geometric shape and crisp clean lines, from round to square to even octagon.  The range flawlessly utilizes a host of colors, textures, and materials. It is encompassed with rich acetates and one of a kind matte finishes in unique colors like matte root beer or bottle, frames made of metal (stainless steel or titanium), as well as several great metal and acetate combination styles.

Hailing from Western Australia, Kym Ellery has been making waves with her strong sexy clothes ever since her label ELLERY debuted in 2007. Acclaimed by industry insiders as well as just about anyone who has had the pleasure to see her designs; from celebrities such as Madonna, Lady Gaga, Kate Bosworth… to being featured in magazines such as Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, and Russh(just to name a few).

Building off a very successful limited edition collaboration last year with Graz Eyewear — Ellery and Graz have now joined forces once again for an expanded lineup of special edition ELLERY shades for 2012. For those unfamiliar with Graz Eyewear, it is headed by none other than Graz Mulcahy (the former driving force behind AM eyewear and Ksubi).  The creative duo worked closely on every bespoke design to represent both of their signature looks.

The landmark, chic, and extremely hard to find cat-eye “Quixote” style is back, but this time in gorgeous semi-translucent colorways such as: “Lucid Fairyfloss”, and “Lucid Listerine”(our favorites), also a version featuring gold metal arms!  Consisting of a total of four unique styles, each one available in a several stunning colors, there is sure to be a pair with your name on them. The new Spring Summer 2011 Chronicles of Never Eyewear collection is now available. Supply Limited.

In keeping with the brands sensibilities, Australian based label, Chronicles of Never’s latest “Into the Voided” Spring Summer 2011 eyewear collection is both dark and sophisticated.  Like past seasons, don’t expect to find bright popping colors here, but several variations of darker tones, such as: Matte Black, “Charcoal Glass”, deep rich Tortoise, and new this season “Blood Red”.

Extra thick and chunky quality acetate is used to create three very unique new styles.  Playing off the connected and the distinct edgy feel to the collection, the models introduced this season are named after the classic Wu Xing “Five Element” principle, frame names include:  “Wood Feeds Fire”, “Fire Creates Earth”, and “Earth Bears Metal”.  Checkout the new pieces below.

The new 2011 Graz Eyewear collection is now in stock, supply limited.

While Austalian label Graz Eyewear’s debut line of sunglasses started in just 2008, make no mistake about it the man behind the self entitled line, Graz Mulcahy, has quite an extensive body of work.  At just 19, Mulcahy launched AM Eyewear before moving on to be Chief Designer of Ksubi Eyewear, and then onto his own line Graz. Some might also recognize the name, as having designed sunglasses and collaborated with the label Chronicles of Never for their 2009-2011 optical collections, as well as collaborated with cult label Monster Children and Australian fashion house ELLERY(which we covered).  Graz has received much deserved praise by both a loyal and ever growing following as well as fashion insiders.  His collection was voted “Best Sunglasses Design of The Year” by Vogue Magazine in 2008. Grazia Magazine called  Graz “King of Accessories for 2009”.

Graz eyewear is not about logo’s or fly fads.   They are a small label and you can tell the thought that goes into each and every pair, which are seamlessly edgy yet timeless.

Constantly evolving, the new 2011 collection brings several new styles which are an eclectic mix of old-school classics but updated to feel very fresh.   Particularly impressive this season are the unique colors and textures; Aside from the classic tortoise and black, the styles are available in great colors such as: matte black, “Ale”, bronze, gold, and “root beer”; and feature metals as well as acetate.

Graz’s personal favorite. The CPS has an old school  “Italian mafia  vibe, but also Bob Dylan rock ‘n’ roll. Its kinda blocky and bulky and sits on that line in between masculine and feminine.”  We love the finish of the matte black Graz uses(pictured above)  but also be sure to check out all of the colors.

Just arrived, Graz Eyewear drops a sik limited edition collaboration with cult art magazine Monster Children.

Australian based sunglass label Graz, headed by Graz Mulcahy, might be one of the best kept secrets in eyewear, at least here in the states. Make no mistake about it though, Graz is not new to designing sunglasses, and for many who might not be familiar with the name know of his works. At just the age of 19 he launched AM eyewear before moving on to design for Ksubi and then onto his own self entitled line Graz. Some might also recognize the name, as having designed sunglasses and collaborated with the label Chronicles of Never for both the 2009/10 line (which we covered here).
Graz sunglasses are not about fancy logo’s and fly by fads, they are a small label and you can tell the thought that goes into all the designs, which are seamlessly edgy yet classic. With a loyal and ever growning following his limited edition pieces can be quite difficult to get a hold of.

Now Graz collaborates with Aussie art based magazine Monster Children for these limited edition sunnies simply called “Obstacle”. These aggressive unisex sunglasses are a juxtaposition of futuristic and old school classic style. They have straight lines and sharp edges and feature a keyhole bridge. They are all hand made of beautiful quality acetate.

The long awaited new shipment of Chronicles of Never sunglasses has just dropped straight from Australia.

Edgy, dark and sophisticated there is something very “grown up” about Chronicles of Never Sunglasses; Something that subtley says dont f**k with me. You can read more about Chronicles of Never in our post here.

These shades done in collaboration with Graz Mulcahy (another former Ksubi alum and now with his own label Graz eyewear) are offered in a few select colors of two models, each with limited availablity: Corpus Callosum and the Choroid Plexus. We really love the acetate they used, the colors in the tortoise are extremely rich.

The Corpus Callosum with it’s straight lines, is a strong geometric style that is both futuristic and classic. Available in tortoise with brown lenses and also available in tortoise with brown gradient lenses.

Chronicles of Never is fast finding its niche with collections that are both edgy and for lack of a better term, Moody.

The Australian based label was founded by Gareth Moody, former Ksubi bad boy. Leaving Ksubi because of what he described as a love/hate relationship with the brand, he set out on his own with Chronicles of Never and fashion enthusiast’s have been thankful ever since.

While not busy designing his ready to wear collection, Moody has been busy with his latest project: sunglasses. Teaming up with Graz Mulcahy (another former Ksubi alum and now with his own label Graz eyewear) sunglasses take on a whole new meaning, which is no surprise given their backgrounds.

Chronicles of Never sunglasses, keeping with the brand sensibilities, plays with color or rather lack of color. The collection uses dark tones, such as black and tortoise frames with pitch black tinted lenses and strong geometric styles.

Edgy dark and sophisticated there is something very “grown up” about Chronicles of Never Sunglasses; Something that subtley says dont f**k with me.

With only a couple select frames and a fews pieces of each frame available, these limited edition shades are sure go fast.
