Super sunglasses - Winter 2013/2014

The new Super sunglasses Winter 2014 Collection is now available.

Super’s new winter collection takes its cues from Fritz Lang’s 1927 iconic science fiction film ‘Metropolis’ and retro super futuristic interpretations of 20’s style.

We presented the first installment of the collection last month, the winter range yields an assortment of new one of a kind designs for the cold winter months ahead.  Striking the balance between the rough and crude, whilst remaining polished and refined, the lineup features an innovative mixture of textures and opulent materials. Acetate is creatively combined with materials such as: leather, steel, and even wood which is set on top gold metal in one of our favorite series named “Francis G Wood”.

Garrett Leight x Thierry Lasry Sunglasses | No.2

Garrett Leight X Thierry Lasry … Paris Meets Los Angeles, No. 2 – Limited Edition is now available.

Los Angeles based Garrett Leight California Optical and renowned Parisian eyewear brand Thierry Lasry, are back for their second limited edition collaborative release for winter 2013/2014.  Rarely do you see two direct eyewear brands get together, but when they do it is usually something special, especially when these two are involved (both long time brands here at Eyegoodies).

Revisiting the success of their previous collaboration, the latest incarnation draws inspiration from each designer’s home city  — with each seamlessly incorporating their own signature style. The sunglass, simply named “Number 2″ (for their second collaboration), takes a classic shape and imparts a deconstructed twist.   Available in four main colors, each of which features blue acetate components at the bridge and temples which showcase the exposed hand-drilled rivets and screws.

To commemorate the collaboration Garrett Leight and Thierry Lasry invited Los Angeles based artist Ashkahn to design a special edition box and carrying pouch as his own interpretation of each of the respective cities.

Super Sunglasses - AW 2013/2014 Metropolis Collection

The new Super sunglasses Autumn/Winter 2013/2014 ‘Metropolis’ Collection is now available.

For this cold winter season Super delves into the depths of Fritz Lang’s 1927 iconic sci-fi film ‘Metropolis’ — emerging with new retro super futuristic visions for its lineup.

Dynamic, mechanical, and undoubtedly fresh, the range features a host of raw metallic materials, textures, and rich natural colors.  Super digs into the blacksmiths workshop carving out one of a kind creations using pure steel: shiny, matte and antiqued gold metal and silver galvanic. Other notable highlights include: distressed leather combined with brushed gold, ‘marbled’ acetates, art deco / geometric touches, and one of our favorites the unassuming stealth of the “Matte Black” series featuring their core shapes done in all matte black paired with dark black lenses.

SUPER “The Cove” Limited Edition

Super Cove sunglasses

Super gives us a splash of color with its new limited edition capsule collection, entitled “The Cove”.

Inspired by the “dreamy colors of California”, the capsule is a tribute to the free-spirited lifestyles of its surfers, sport enthusiasts, and seafarers.  Super worked with sports professionals such as: Ryan Lovelace, Brandon DiPierri, Simon Murdoch or Oliver Parker, and was particularly captivated by their favorite surfing spot, simply known as the cove.

The range is characterized by Zeiss full-on colored mirrored lenses, set in their signature core shapes: Flat Top, America, Jaguar, and Lucia. Also worth noting, the frames feature “COVE” discreetly inscribed on one of the temple tips to distinguish the special edition.
Only given to a chosen few US retailers, Eyegoodies is proud to be amongst — but be warned supply is very limited .

Garrett Leight California Optical Summer 2013

The Garrett Leight Spring Summer 2013 collection embodies everything we appreciate in eyewear, it’s: original, classic, and oh so clean — with a laid-back California spirit.

Beautiful custom Japanese acetates, signature metal filigree detailing, and glass lenses with both polarized and anti-reflective options, are just a few of the notable highlights throughout the range. It is technical, yet each frame comes across effortless and universally wearable, which is no easy feat.  You can just feel the thought and care that goes into each design. There are details everywhere you look, even the nose-pads on the new San Juan model have their own small signature touch.

Garrett Leight California Optical joins forces with esteemed American designer Mark McNairy for a limited edition capsule collection for summer 2013: “MADE IN AMERICA”.

The frame, simply entitled ‘Number 3′, incorporates the best of two worlds — American craftsmanship and premium Japanese acetate.
Available both as a sunglass and an optical frame, the Number 3 is a timeless design which works extremely well on most faces. Handmade in the U.S.A from the finest Japanese acetate, it features a classic key-hole bridge and real riveted hinges for strength and durability.  The frame also comes complete with a special edition box to commemorate the collaboration.

Ksubi Sunglasses - Summer 2013

Ksubi Eyewear’s Summer 2013 collection is now available.

Australian based, Ksubi has long been one of our favorite labels here at Eyegoodies.  They never fail to demonstrate their ability to depart from conformity and create collections which are concise and always original— as in the case with their latest summer 2013 offering.

The range takes its cues from their ready-to-wear collection which highlights “religion, royalty, and old world luxury”. However in true Ksubi fashion this is translated with a fresh fashion forward pulse.   The collection includes a diverse assortment of one of a kind styles, such as the appropriately named ‘BATCAT’, a twist on a cat-eye design where the ends are shaped like a bat’s wings. Or the ‘Lacerta’, a variation of the same shape which features translucent cut-outs.  Fan favorites such as the ‘CISCO’ and ‘ARA’ sunglasses return, but this time are set off with high shine gold metal or gold mirrored lenses.

Keeping our visually challenged friends cool this summer season, ILLESTEVA releases two new Clip-On designs: “Felix” and “Capri”.

At the core of clip-on sunglasses is their utility — as they can be fitted with an RX and worn as standard eyeglasses, then when you go out into the sun, the sunglass lenses can quickly be clipped on — giving you two uses with a single frame. However, even if you only plan to wear as a sunglass, it still undoubtedly makes for a unique and sophisticated piece.

The “Felix” is a classic squared off design with unique contemporary embossed detailing throughout, while the “Capri” is a refined and timeless P3 shape. Each frame comes complete with a silver metal clip-on with dark grey lenses.

Just in as part of Cutler and Gross‘ Spring Summer 2013 collection, is the new 1083 sunglasses.

A timeless P3 design, the 1083 is a more contemporary streamlined version of their iconic 0734 model. Available in two unique colorways: “Matte Dark Turtle White Layer” a tri-layer acetate featuring “Matte Dark Turtle”, white, and blue in different panels; and also available in a rich graduated brown acetate named “Grad Brown Amber”.
